ROYALE PARIS CHRONO: the first manufacture chronograph

The Pequignet Manufacture is writing a new chapter in its history with the Royale Paris Chrono, its very first chronograph. The result of several years of development and exceptional watchmaking expertise, this new creation embodies the Maison’s ambition: to design timepieces that combine mechanical innovation, timeless elegance, and French excellence.

With this first chronograph, Pequignet confirms its ability to develop highly sophisticated watch movements while preserving a distinctly French identity. The Royale Paris Chrono is aimed at both lovers of fine mechanics and design enthusiasts, offering a contemporary interpretation of one of watchmaking’s most iconic complications.

It had been a long time since I had seen such a beautiful chronograph, one that combines an exceptional movement, outstanding dial finishing, and a perfectly proportioned, beautifully executed case, while showcasing Pequignet’s remarkable craftsmanship and expertise.

Aesthetics, Robustness and Precision

Faithful to the design codes of its lineage, the Royale Paris Chrono retains the aesthetic features that define the collection. It features the signature case with attached lugs, giving it an architectural silhouette and timeless elegance on the wrist. Its more sculpted profile incorporates a concave “gouge”-shaped recess that extends around the entire perimeter of the dial.

The chronograph is built around a cam-actuated mechanism, ensuring crisp and robust operation. It is also less sensitive to shocks than a column-wheel chronograph. The Royale Paris Chrono is available in two versions: an opaline dial with either blue or red counters.

The watch displays the small seconds at 3 o’clock and a 30-minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. It is equipped with an offset stem system, allowing perfect alignment of the crown and pushers.

The Calibre Initial® Chronographe: new development

To power this new chronograph, the Manufacture developed a movement based on the Calibre Initial®, enhanced with new finishes. This fifth movement embodies the perfect synergy between two exceptional areas of expertise.

To bring this iconic complication to life, the Manufacture chose to partner with a prestigious Swiss maison, a world-renowned specialist in high-watchmaking complications. This close collaboration, built on geographical proximity and technical complementarity, gave rise to the new Calibre Initial® Chronograph.

As with the other four in-house movements, all components are sourced within an 80-kilometre radius of the Manufacture in Morteau.
